hiking boots with wings sliding down the Chimmney

So i'm not very good at the blogging regularly thing. Don't worry, we're not still on Long Island. We've traveled through 18 states so far this fall and will be hitting number 19, Missouri, here this week. I'm currently in Columbus, OH and we're doing some schedule and team job stuff. I'll share one picture with you:

I'm not even going to try to figure this one out. There are many ways that I could go with this...but i'm just going to leave it to your imagination....

This image is from Savannah. Unlike the other picture, I don't think there is much to say about this one.

My good friend Adam Morris sent me a question and I think it's a good one. The question is a deep one: Do we worship God because he is good or because he's our creator?

Many ways to go with this, but to tangenize (to go on a tangent) I think it brings up something that is a part of our faith that we take for granted: worship. It's something we all do and do often, but do we know why? It is important for us to understand our faith. It is not a good enough reason to say that we were raised a certain way or that it's what our mother or father told us. We must know why we believe what we believe.

So why do we worship? I think worshiping is part of the relational aspect that we have with God. It is one of the ways that we can show our love back to God. However, worship is not the end all, kind of like salvation...salvation cannot and I don't think is the point of faith. We were created to experience God's love. I think because God is love, that is how we in turn experience God. So the answer of the question may be because God created us, but indirectly. It's a good question to ponder.

If you haven't heard of Sufjan Stevens, I highly recommend that you check out his Christmas album. There are about 42 different tracks on his cd and you can't get it on iTunes for 14.99. So good.

Ok, prayers for my sister's husband's family as they just lost their Grandpa. And prayers for our family friend Sara as she's recently pregnant!! yay! And keep spreading the love!

This blog is dedicated to Mary Olson from Dawson, MN....or I guess it's in honor of because she's not dead yet....heyo!
